Types of JDBC drivers:
In the industry we can come across 4 types of JDBC drivers. They are,
1 Type-1/JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver
2 Type-2/Native driver/Partially java drivers
3 Type-3/Net protocol driver
4 Type-4/Pure/All java/Thin drivers
Architecture of Type-1 driver:
Type-1 driver developed by sun micro system.
Type-1 driver implementation language is ‘c’
Since type-1 driver is implemented in c-language it always posses platform dependency.
